The 2024 Starting Point Sodium Electricity National Research and Interview Activity, organised by Starting Point Research/Starting Point Sodium Electricity and sponsored by Mangshi Technology/Shangshui Intelligence/Ruitech Technology, will be carried out from January 2024 to March 2024, to conduct research and interviews with the leading enterprises in each segment of the sodium battery industry chain, to conduct in-depth research on the development of the sodium electricity industry and dynamics of the first-line research and report on the high-quality enterprises, and to push the development of the sodium battery industry into a new stage. On 11th January, Yang Jiaxin, General Manager of Start Sodium Division, led the Start Sodium research team into Wuxi Paragonage Technology Co., Ltd. and discussed with Cai Tingting, co-founder of Pangu New Energy, and Deng Zhipeng, co-founder of Paragonage, and so on.

In terms of industrialisation process, Mr. Cai mentioned that at present, Paragonage has set up bases in Shenzhen and Wuxi respectively, of which, the Shenzhen base covers an area of 4,000 square meters, and has already completed the buckling laboratory/electrolyte laboratory/cell test room/module test room/cell trial line, etc., which has a complete research and development system of the core to meet the demand for experiments and samples; and the pilot line of the Wuxi base covers 12,000 square meters, and the company's pilot line is expected to be completed by the end of 2012, and the pilot line is expected to be completed in the end of 2012. The pilot line of Wuxi base covers an area of 12,000 square metres, and the pilot line of the company is expected to be put into operation after March 2024, with a daily output of 25,000 cells and a production capacity of 5GWh, which will be launched in Q2 2024 after reaching the production capacity.
Mr Cai revealed that in the beginning of the R & D process, also met a series of problems, such as the humidity of the layer oxide is not well controlled, easy to gel, the performance of the battery will also have an impact; another example of the layer of oxygen gas production problems, but also can be used in the design of the cylindrical form of the effective control; sodium electricity grouping problems, how to improve yields, and so on.
For the price of lithium carbonate on the impact of sodium power, Mr Cai believes that the price of lithium carbonate decline, the industry will have pessimism, in fact, is very normal, we need to have enough insight into the industry. For example, through technological enhancement, the performance of sodium electricity up, first do a good job in small market segments. As many of our peers said, seize the opportunity and cultivate good internal skills.
Mr Deng also mentioned that sodium power or to follow the price of lithium power, because sodium power this market is temporarily no blue ocean, there is a more important is the performance of sodium power, especially the cycle is very advantageous, and the price advantage of sodium power here, do not have to worry about the so-called price wars or lithium carbonate price slump impact.
Recently, the sodium ion battery field sodium battery loaded / sodium tram mass production and other good news, Mr Deng frankly said that 2023 is the first year of sodium electricity, but in fact, 2024 is the first year of sodium electricity, 2025 may usher in a new growth period of sodium electricity.
In terms of sodium power shipments, Mr Cai optimistically predicted that the shipments in 2025 may reach 10GWh, but it also depends on how the industry develops. Starter batteries/energy storage/two-wheelers/low-speed four-wheelers are all very promising potential application scenarios, and for these scenarios, Paragonage has already started relevant exploration and layout.
